THE ONLY LEAGUE GAME!
Falcons primed for Norths Devils
Posted 5th April 2007

If you need your fix of footy in the flesh this weekend then there is only one place to find it, Quad Park. There you’ll find the Caloundra RSL Falcons battling the Norths Devils.

As the local league takes a rest this weekend you’ll be able to catch high level FOGS Cup action in Colts and A Grade from 5pm this Saturday night. After a narrow defeat at the hands of the much fancied Easts Tigers last week, the Falcons are primed for the best effort of the season when they take on the Norths Devils at home.

“We had some great improvement last week and realistically we have just missed out on two victories so far,” stated A Grade coach Des Allen. “We have had a great preparation this week and I can really sense it in my bones. We are on the verge of a great game and all the pieces starting to fall into place.”

Apart from great team preparation the surface at Quad Park is in sensational condition and the Easter break should make for a bumper crowd. All in all this Saturday night will be a great spectacle for local league followers to get along to and enjoy.

“This is the highest level of league available to players on the Sunshine Coast,” added new CEO Brett Winkler. “It will be a good opportunity for local players and supporters to see the difference in speed and skill level. And if any local players want to make that step up, we’d certainly like to have a talk with them.”

Still smarting from their heavy defeat last week, the Colts will be looking for a much improved effort this week. After solid performances in the opening two games last week could just be put down to ‘one of those days.’

“We just never clocked on last week. I am positive that the guys are pretty embarrassed over last week so they will be doing everything imaginable to redeem themselves firstly and then the supporters,” declared coach Brad Henderson.

And the Easter Bunny will also put in an appearance this Saturday night with plenty of eggs for the kids. In addition they will have the new sound system at Quad Park in full working order which will make for great enjoyment for the whole family

FOGS Cup action starts at 5pm this Saturday night at Quad Park with the Colts Challenge and then the A Grade take on Norths Tigers at 6.15pm.
