Despite the game being decided in the last few minutes the Falcons put in one of their most impressive displays of the season. A victory by the Falcons this week will see them just one win out of the top five.
“Last week was the most physical game we have had all year,” declared A Grade coach Des Allen. “Both teams were absolutely stuffed at half time and the same again at full time. I have nothing put praise for my boys and the way they put their bodies on the line. Any other week I think we would have come away with a win.”
But the Falcons will need to be at their best again this week when they meet Redcliffe at home. Redcliffe have for many years been a huge force in Queensland Rugby League and their player depth is always outstanding. It will certainly test the Falcons mettle if they are up to the mark.
“Make no bones about it. We will be as physical as we have even been this week,” stated Allen. “They have shown what they are capable off and I expect them to bash Redcliffe all around the park. It will be great entertainment for the fans to see how much our guys are improving.”
And it will be a big improvement needed by the Colts this weekend. A big loss on the road will have them spurred on to redeem their pride but also get much earned victory on the board.
“We’ll be without Zac Henrickson this weekend who is away on rep duties, so some guys will need to step up,” stated Colts coach Brad Henderson. “Our game has been great in patches but we are still yet to put a full game together. The guys were great in their last half at Quad so I am expecting that they will continue that form again.”
